Left Hand Painting

Hi,

I've been having some pain on my right elbow and have a tingle/numbness on my right pinky. So, I've been trying to exercise, relax and keep my right arm at rest. so since i can't stop drawing, I've been drawing with my left hand all day long. It's really tough, but i found some cool shapes that i don't think i would have been able to do with my normal drawing style. This guy was a test to see if i could paint with my left hand in photoshop. it took a long time, but there is hope.

Have a good night,

alien dude

Hi all,

I've been taking the gnomon masterclasses this past week and it's been really cool being able to watch those awesome artists do their thing. Lot's of neat tips and tricks, very inspirational. Another cool thing about the class is that you get to interact with them and get critiques and questions answered by the master artists of today's movie and video game industries.

Iain McCaig is giving out assignments, so while I was doing mine I wanted to try Neville Paige's zbrush symmetry alien creation tricks and this is what I ended up with. Quite fun, you end up with some neat shapes.

What do you guys think?

been sick

Hi all,

I've been sick for the past 5 days now. Mostly it's the flu, still sucks cause I've been in bed for most of those days and haven't been able to draw at all.

So in the meantime I've decided to share what I've been working on in the past several months.

So please go to my post on CA.org and leave a comment. I would love to hear what you guys think.

portrait Study

Hello,

Haven't posted in a while, been busy working on my portfolio. I bought Coro's allaprima portrait session last night and got inspired to do a quick portrait study. Still need to work some more on getting the likeness but I'm getting there.

throw away sketch

hello,

I managed to get some more characters done this week and I'm moving onto some environments and props for the Contemporary pieces I want to have on my portfolio. Expect a website revamp sometime this fall!!

Anyways, I needed a bad guy for my characters and with the help of a coworker we came up with this guy. A fat, mob boss who returns bullets with his nunchackus and wears a designer bulletproof vest. Although he was turning out alright, I thought his design was too simple and he was starting to look too cartoony for me, so I ended up going with something else that was a bit cooler design-wise.

Still wanted to share something with you guys, so here ya go. Hope you like him.

Busting Out Some Moves

hello,

This past weekend i picked up Maya again. I hadn't used it in a long time and at first it was a bit tricky, but after a while I remembered most of it and felt right at home. I wanted to quickly block in an environment interior to aid me in my paint-overs for my portfolio.

Here are some quick renders I made. I would also like to show some moves that the characters might be able to make in this world. Right now, I'm playing with different ways of showing these different moves. Something new or different that you might see in 20 concept art portfolio applications.

So here's a stab at it, let me know what you think. do you think it's different, cool, etc? Do the moves themselves make sense or are they hard to read?

I would really appreciate any comments and suggestions you might have. Thanks in advance.
